Gipfel

About a week after I laid Steel Grit's bones to rest, the original Bass Player and founding member of Steel Grit, the one and only Mad Russian, Mark Szczerba, contacted me and asked if I wanted to start another project. Not really, I was ready to hang it up, but I said yes instead.

We started banging ideas together while we worked on finding a singer and a drummer. Sometimes it was very much like putting a square peg in a round hole, but somehow we knew we could do this. Enter Queen.

Queen came to us with a 30's Jazz vibe to her vocals. I decided I could work with this. We were now trying to put Octagon pegs into round holes, LOL. But with finesse and effort and learning how to work with each other, we started crafting songs. Then they started coming faster, but we were still looking for a drummer.

Johnny Maxion, our new drummer, came to us through auditions in Oct to replace our former drummer who had to leave do to job requirements.  With his exceptional background, it is clear he will be ready to perform with Gipfel in very quick order.  Welcome aboard Johnny.

With a couple of gigs under our belt, along with videos and pics, we are ready to move on and tackle next season's festivals.

Looking to see you at the big festivals.

Cheers to all you Lads and Lasses
